ive just invested in a Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB, i going to use it to store all my media on, films/tv progs/music/pics, whats the best format for the drive? ntfs/ext3/other? bear in mind i want to share the contents of this drive to various systems and an xbox360 around the house.

JFS or XFS are best for media. Ext2/3 have problems when removing large files (~<1GiB). It might take a minute or more to remove one. Jfs and xfs both fix this. Make your root partition ext3 for fewer headaches though. GRUB gets along best with it. Otherwise you'll need to use LILO which sucks. ;)
