Dell XPS Gen 2 died on me like 2 years ago and ive only just got round to actually sorting it out. So, what kinda cable do i need to connect the Hard-drive to my PC? It's a type of IDE (though not the standard one, has less pins) and also has a little adapter thing...

Sorry i'm not much help :p

You can get 2.5" laptop to 3.5" desktop IDE adapters for a couple of quid plus P&P from a well known auction site, or alternatively you could just buy an external 2.5" HDD USB enclosure for less than a fiver from the same source (make sure it's IDE and not SATA though).

You can get them from OCUK too and they come with a 2.5"-35." adapter tray for mounting
