Im currently using Acronis True Image Home 11 to create back ups of my C Drive on my HTPC and it works fine but on this (the main PC) it doesnt work. It creates back up images fine but when i go to restore the image it just fails when it needs to reboot the PC. I get the message that it requires a reboot and i click yes and then nothing happens :confused:

I've tried just about everything but it just doesnt want to do anything.

So, im going to have to try another piece of software; Paragon Drive Backup.

Does anyone have experience of this?
Is it any good?

Cheers

Acronis True Image is brilliant software.

How are you using it, using the bootable media, or the software with scheduled backups?

im using it like normal. Creating back ups with-in windows. Its not backing up thats the problem. Its the restoring like i said.
Fire it up -> Restore -> look for back up image -> apply -> says it needs to reboot to restore image -> then nothing!
It just hangs and doesn't reboot the PC. Does nothing!

using the latest version 11?

i take it you have a full licence and are using the newest boot disc for 11?

Yes full licence.
i dont use a boot disk when using ATI. I just use the restore option in ATI.
I just click restore, browse for back up image, go through all the steps and then click ok. It says it needs to reboot to complete the operation, i click OK and then it just hangs and does nothing.

i always use the boot cd, never fails

feels 'safer' to create a backup when windows is offline, imo
