hi,

had Vista Pre-RC1 installed, must say it is very good, only build i can say is usable.

i got a new sata hdd today and just put it in, vista says it has recognised its there and ready to use but it is not in my computer?

the hdd is spinning but just isnt showing up, it shows up in the bios

im guessing its a vista bug? just wondered if anyone else has same problem or if anyone knows any fixes

thanks

Just sounds like its not formatted and been allocated a drive letter.

Go into control panel >Administrative tools>Computer management then select Disk Management in the left column. The drive will appear on the right then right click on it and select format. then you can allocate a drive letter for it.
