HDD on way out?

On my previous PC I was getting intermittent freezes and noticed when it happened the HDD activity light was constantly on, there would also be times when I switched the PC on that it wouldn't recognise a HDD and wouldn't boot because of that. I've now replaced the motherboard, CPU and Ram (Sandybridge setup) and everytime when I switch the system on there is a warning saying 'No hard drive detected' (MSI GD65 btw) but until earlier tonight it's always booted fine and never had any problems. Earlier tonight I switched it on from hibernate state and it said something along the lines of 'No boot device detected' which is the same error I got quite a lot on my previous setup. I restarted the PC and everything was fine after that but does this sound like my HDD is on the way out (Samsung SATA 320GB)? Think I'd best invest in a new HDD as well by the looks of it, not a major issue reinstalling Windows again to be honest as I haven't got that much stuff on here I can't easily reinstall, just a bit of a pain.

Cheers
