HDD & SSD dilemma

I've installed my OS onto my 60GB SSD, but it appears that everything I now try to download goes on-to that SSD. That usually doesn't give me any problems as I can change where I save a lot of files. The problem I have encountered is that when trying to download a hefty torrent, it won't allow me to download it, as of course there is insufficient space on the SSD. Is there any way I can download these files onto my 2TB HDD?

I'm probably missing something very simple, but this is the first time I've ever had a HDD and an SSD.

Thanks.

Downloading through a web browser, torrenting or something else?

You can set the save location of a web browser easily enough, although some do have this habit of saving it into your temp files before transferring it across.

Do you have you user files pointed t the HDD or are they in the default location?

I dont use torrents but surely there must be somewhere in the client that allows you to specify where your downloaded files are placed?

Hi guys, changed torrent client and it makes D/L procedure a lit simpler. Sorted the problem. Cheers guys.

@Amp, everything is pointed to the SSD, the default C drive. Is there any way I could change the default drive to my E drive which is my HDD?

IIRC you right click on your documents link on the start menu and I think in properties you can tell it where to default to, same with "my music", pictures and videos to.

Right click, properties, then under the Shortcut tab, change the target to the HDD and anything that downloads (torrents, browser, etc) will go to the HDD instead.

Same with Documents, Music, Videos, etc under "Libraries" as well.

If you right click on your "Libraries" you can select the default save location for My Documents/Videos Pictures etc, then you don't need to manually change it. Worth changing for other items so that if you "rip" a CD it will save to a location which isn't using up valuable SSD space! I usually re-point all my default save locations to make sure if I re-format that nothing too important goes missing.
