Hdd to Disc

I'm not sure if this should be posted here or somewhere else.Please move if nescesary.

I have a Dvd recorder with built in hdd, if i record to hdd then copy that recording to Dvd-rw how can i make it readable on another dvd player.

No i haven't,i don't know how to do it or if it is possible with rw.

Its possible to finalise rw's. Without knowing what model recorder you have, your best bet is to have a flick through the instruction manual to find out how to finalise discs

Thanks Kfa i will take a look in the manual.
Model is Chili DVR-9200HX.

Just finalised the disc on the recorder and when i put it on pc the disc shows up with nothing on it but says it is not empty. :confused:

I have now managed to be able to view the files on the pc but not on other dvd players.

Any suggestions?

Is it a - or + disc? From my own experience - are better for use on dvd players. Try a DVDR and see if its any better.

If it doesn't work on rw why would DVDR be and different? :confused:

Some dvd players are fussy on what they play back. Try a different brand.

Try a -R, not an RW. Ive found that not many DVD players can read the re-recordable discs.

Thanks for the reply Jez but i know that the dvd player that i am trying it on can read -rw and +rw because i have tried it with other dvd files.

All i can suggest is that you bat off an email to your dvd recorders helpdesk then, or give them a call if they have a tech support line. You cant be the only person with the problem if it really isnt working

Ok Jez thasnks again i will try that.I thought it was something simple that i might have missed as my brother has the same problem with his dvd recorder but his is a different brand.
