hdd upgarde probs?

Hello friendly OCUK types!

A little while ago I heard that upgrading a HDD in a mac book was becoming problematic because of a firm ware update or something. Is this still a problem, or did it even exist?

I am looking to upgrade my 2009 unibody 250Gb drive to a seagate 500Gb 7200 or something similar.

Please enlighten my simple mind!

The problem existed on the 13/15" Mid 2009 MacBook Pros. If you just have the original unibody MacBook you should be fine.
