Good morning all,

Ive got an Asus laptop to which I replaced the HDD to a SSD a couple of years ago. I only had a 120GB on me so I used this but i'm at a stage now where its near enough full. I have a spare 240GB laying about and I would like to replace the current ssd with this one. The only problem is that i've got software on the laptop to which I dont have the cd's for anymore. Is there a way where I can copy over all the software from the current drive to another one? ie copy all the stuff over to another drive and just replace it so its plug and play?

Thanks in advance

Use the free version of Macrium Reflect.

The exact process will depend on whether you have one of.

  • A PC where you could connect both drives at the same time.
  • A USB adapter to allow both drives to be connected to the laptop.
  • An external USB drive big enough to image the old drive to.

Sometimes the manufacturer has a program you can download on their site to help you clone the drive to another one.

I did it with a samsung drive a couple of months ago.

This. Reflect can clone your hdd to another even while running windows :)
