Also as well as my Ghost Recon graphics problem, I have a problem that when ever I come out of standby or something along those lines, my secondary HDD vanishes and I am unable to access it......but if I restart my PC, I can access the drive hassle free.

I dont have the problem with standby thing but every now and again my drive disappears for no reason also, its a SATA II drive if that makes a diff.

same kind of thing as mine, mines a SATA II drive, Maxtor I think....
I only use it as a back up drive, but to be fair it has been performing better recently and not disappearing as randomly.

It used to disappear a lot, I had to turn my PC off, unplug the SATA connector and replug it in and it would show up again, but its stopped disappearing randomly like that now.....it only disappears now when i get out of standby or crash out of a game.

Instead of rebooting, try going into device manager and scan for new hardware.

I did give that a go last night because I really couldn't be bothered to reboot, but it didn't pick it up.

I'll have a look and see what happens, its becoming a pain in the rear having to restart every time my pc goes to standby just to access a drive.

Could it be the drive on the way out? Because another problem i have with the drive is that i cant delete a couple of the folders, they are empty folders but i cant actually remove the folder from the directory

Checked for BIOS updates that sound like they fix it?

just tried looking for an updated BIOS for my Asus A8N-Sli Premium mobo, but there is no new updates since 2006 on the Asus website and i've already got that installed.
