Hi,

I just tried a free ntfs-3g prject like linux has, unfortunatley it has totally borked my os x up. I cant launch finder or anything. Anyway thats another issue....

I did run the trial version of paragon ntfs support, it worked flawlessly, but costs $40, which i dont wanna pay.

So what can I do, make the hdd xt3? can mac os x get read write access? I know windows can with a patch.

or should I turn the hdd into NFS+ and get macdrive?

Mac Fuse has been ok whenever i've needed it, but my external drive is HFS (I have macdrive on my few PCs) and my smaller externals are all FAT formatted.

do i install the latest macfuse.dmg then the latest ntfs-3g driver? Then reboot?

Do i have to unmount the partitions first before installing the packages?
