hdd

SSD might have failed. If it's internally shorted, it will likely cause the PSU to shut down. Does the PC POST without it?
when i plug in ssd comp shuts down...got that sorted it was the connector cable ..but now when using a flash drive to install windows it does not see the hdd or ssd to install windows... help

Does it show in the BIOS?

What was the earlier problem with the cable? You might have killed something.
dont know what was the problem with cables...changed them too same mumber cables then the comp turned on cpu fan and psu working..but trying to put windows on to ssd from flashdrive and it cant see ssd to load windows onto

What's the history of the machine?

Some context to the situation would help. E.g. was it previously working?
i upgraded from this board to another changed psu toa new one so decided to build ..with the old board to a new case new psu new [ssd /hdd ]use before all working now but cant load windows onto ssd.

I'd start by testing the drive in another machine.

Without properly understanding what was going on to the cause the shutdowns mentioned there's no way to know whether the drive and/or the mother could have been damaged.

Have you confirmed they are still working?

A connection fault that causes the machine to shutdown is never going to be a good thing. You could have killed components.

The obvious things you need to check for are:-

Disabled SATA ports - check in the BIOS
Dead drives - try them in another machine
Dead SATA ports - try known good drives on them
Dodgy SATA data cables - try known good cables

If you aren't willing to do a bit of basic fault finding you aren't going to get anywhere.
