Having an issue with sata hdd's not showing up on a new build. Drives are an ocz vertex 2e 120gb ssd and a samsung f3 1tb. Theyre not showing up in bios or detected when i go to install windows, (f3 unplugged as it's a storage only drive). But i gave it a quick try, used both the sata 3 and 6gbps connectors, also tried multiple sata cables. Spec below

Intel 3570k
Asus p8 z77 v pro 1155 mobo
8gb corsair vengeance lp

Bios is set to AHCI, blu ray dvd drive is showing up fine. Strangely though, the ssd drive is detected and working as normal when i put it back in my old x58 rig, (posting from it now).

17 920
asus p6t deluxe
12gb kingston hyperx 1600mhz ram.

Ive already tried every port, switching the hdd and blu ray drive around. Optical drive is detected in all of them, but not the ssd.

All sorted, it seems that the latching sata cables i was using on the hdd drives werent getting a secure enough connection on the boards connectors. Broke the latches off and disks detected straight off the bat. Windows installed and updating as required. Thanks shankly for advice offered.:)
