Wish the spec would stop changing so often makes me hold off upgrading to 4K.

The Gaming VRR looks good! Finally adaptive sync technology for TV's. Hopefully consoles and AMD/Nvidia will support it too.

Variable refresh rate is nice to see, perhaps consoles will get it as well now.

I had thought supermhl was going to be the successor ?
Physically need more wires to get the bandwidth up for 120Hz 4K 4:4:4 ? and unify the displayport/hdmi worlds plus 8K future proofing.

Gosh that would make the new refresh of the consoles obsolete despite that are just launched/soon to be launch. It's probably going to be another excuse for Sony and Microsoft to refresh their consoles again with the minor HDMI upgrade in a year's time...

Wouldn't be too late for Microsoft to add HDMI 2.1 to project Scorpio.
