Hello,

I've got two monitors (in sig) that both have only DP1.4 inputs, I've had a quick look and cannot see any HDMI(2) to DP 1.4 converters, I have seen plenty DP to HDMI, am I missing something or does the cable not exist?

Cheers,

Check the back of your monitor again, the Acer should definitely have HDMI input:

...though the Asus does really seem to have only display port input:

I'll double check (well to be honest first check as I was confinced it only has a DP!) Cheers!

Assume if you only have a DP input a converter isn't available? with HDMI 2 I suspect DP's will phase out, I'm asking as I currently work from home a couple of days a week and plug my work laptop into my monitor, I suspect my next laptop will not have a mini DP port but a HDMI 2 output only...

Cheers,

Hello,

You are right (cheers). However, the HDMI is only 1.4, so I'm limited to 30Hz whereas I get 60Hz over display port. Assume HDMI2 to DP enabling me to get 60Hz doesn't exist?

As far as I know, it is a one-way street with there is only DP to HDMI conversion, but not the other way round. This is because DP still is still a bit higher in bandwidth/faster comparing to HDMI 2.0, despite both are capable of 4K 60Hz.
