HDMI and DVI

daft question maybe
ive got a card with an hdmi out
and my monitor has an hdmi socket, but ive only ever used the digital cable
would the hdmi give a better picture

Not really, both are digital outputs.

Quality makes no difference. I use 99p HDMI cables on all my AV gear and there's no difference. It's a digital signal, it either works or doesn't.

Just my personal pref but I find that HDMI gives me jaggies that DVI does not. PC not as much but on my 360 the difference between HDMI and even VGA is night and day.

Shouldn't be any difference in quality between DVI and HDMI, as both carry identical digital signals.

As far as im aware the only difference between the two is HDMI can also output sound, wont find a difference in image quality, both the same
