So, have connected some components up this evening.
XE9305 TV to Yamaha RX-V581 Receiver to PS4 Pro.
Everything came up beautifully however the PS4 Pro was telling me that my TV should be able to support better quality images etc.
Did some digging around and I was told to change 4K mode on the Yamaha Receiver - be default is is "Mode 2" which doesn't support HDR, to "Mode 1". I did this, rebooted the PS4 and now I've got full 4k/HDR support - great.
However I've now got small, "snowy" static over the majority of the screen. No amount of rebooting will fix it.
I don't have any more "Premium" HDMI cables lying around, does this sound like cable issue?
Everything perfect in "Mode 2" on the receiver, however as soon as I switch to "Mode 1" - to improve image quality I get static/snow.

Cheers.

Surely any HDMI 2.0 certified cable will work?

Of course, still may be a dodgy cable

I bought a cheap one to run from my Xbox to my receiver (4 quid from maplin) and works a treat.

Have you checked to make sure the receiver isn't doing anything to the picture? The denon one I have likes to add it's own processing, which may be affecting things

Update:
Everything looked like a cable issue, however must have been a "handshaking issue" of some description.
Every step of the way is HDCP2.2, however over the weekend I needed t unplug everything and move it around. With the exact same cables in the exact same HDMI ports, I switched on TV, Receiver, PS4 Pro - so onscreen "sparkles".
*Shrug* - It works, that is all that matters :)
