HDMI-CEC and ARC HDMI Matrix Problems

My new TV doesn't pass-through DD5.1 and DTS over it's S/PDIF so I bought a HDMI Matrix which can extract the stream from the HDMI connection.

Code:
                   Xbox
                  /
                 /
TV <-ARC-> Matrix ----- PS3
 \ | \
  \ Opt \
   \ | PC
    Home Theatre

This means that my Samsung Home Theatre now has a surround signal, the Matrix also supports ARC so surround from the built in Netflix also gets output at 5.1 to the receiver.

The only problem with all this is that the Matrix appears to identify itself to the TV as a home cinema, this breaks the HDMI-CEC to the Samsung Receiver, and as I don't have the remote for it, means I can no longer control the volume on the unit.

I have tried using a cable on the output of the Matrix with a broken CEC connection, this enabled me to use my home theatre as before with the TV remote to control the volume, but as ARC needs CEC to work correctly, sound then doesn't come from the TV's built in apps.

I can't personally see a solution to this but I thought I'd ask if anyone has any ideas or if someone has a similar setup that they have managed to get working correctly.

You can buy a hdmi cable that disables cec? Not sure that the TV would then use cec for the Reciever when it knows it's on a different input. Guess you can test that first with the xbox. Does the receiver have no hdmi in?

It's just a rubbish poundland cable that has a broken/non-wired pin 13.

The receiver has no HDMI in else I wouldn't need the Matrix. My idea was to replace the Samsung DVD/Home Theatre with one that does but I can't find just the receiver for sale anywhere.

So you have the tv connected to both matrix and the ht (from your diag), how are they connected?

Both by HDMI.

Yeah sorry I meant to try the cable. I didn't realise you already had, although subconsciously I put the?.

I can't think of a fix, other than a new reciever or tv. Are you sure the TV doesn't have a setting for its output encoding?

Yes, unfortunately :(

I'm actually struggling to find an alternative Samsung Home Theatre System that has HDMI in, but I wouldn't want the whole lot as I already have the speakers.

You can buy a basic HDMI amp from Richer sounds for £130.

Then Xbox, PS3 and PC would go into the amp and one HDMI running to the TV.

Depending on the OHM of the speakers from your all in one DVD you might well be able to reuse them.
