I've just bought Samsung XL2370HD and I'm having some problems when connecting it to my PC via a HDMI cable. The connection to the PC is via a DVI-HDMI connector and the other end (HDMI) goes directly into the monitor. When I select the HDMI source, using native 1920x1080 resolution the picture looks over sharpened and it is outside the screen borders (does not fit).
Any other connection setup is fine and these include:
PC > Monitor:
DVI-VGA Adaptor - VGA Cable - Monitor
DVI-HDMI - HDMI Cable - HDMI-DVI - Monitor

But only when I plug the HDMI cable directly into the monitor the picture is not right.

Please advise.

Thank you.

What graphics card do you have? You may need to adjust the overscan in the graphics driver. Also try going on the OSD - go to 'Size & Position' --> 'Image Size' and change from 'Auto' to 'Wide'.

nVidia GTX 460 1GB Sli
I can't find any overscan option in the nvidia control panel + my monitor doesn't have settings for size or position.

I solved the problem myself by reading the manual

Just in case anyone ever has this problem - When a PC with a resolution of 1920x1080@60Hz is connected to the [HDMI In] port you should set the <HDMI> mode to <DVI PC> in the <Edit Menu> of the <Input> mode.

It was just a simple option in the menu.
