Hey

I see that Hdmi 1.4 is capable of 2560x1600.

Will a hdmi to duallink dvi-d cable work from a hd7990 to a hazro or catleap monitor?

Would be intresting if it does. .. as the cables are less than a tenner

They do, but Rroff is talking about a HDMI cable that has the wiring to support 2560x1440/1600.

Worst comes to worst, that card has 2x displayport outputs, so you can just use one of those DP>DVI-DL converter boxes.

Yeah didn't put it very well but going from a HDMI 1.4 output at the GPU stage to actually getting the data at 1440/1600 displayed on the screen even using HDMI 1.4 supported hardware at each end or going through dual link DVI at some stage isn't the best supported standard and can be a bit hit and miss.

Most commonly, displays only support HDMI 1.2. It's very rare to find a display that will do the fully-compliant HDMI 1.4a signals necessary to do >1080p via HDMI.

What i was trying to find was an adapter that took a FastHDMI signal and turned it into dvi Dual link for a DVI-D ONLY monitor :/

I've never seen such an adapter. Fast HDMI is so new and rare I can't imagine there's much of an ROI to make such an adapter for any manufacturer.

Why not just use the bizlink adapter you said you've got?

I'm currently using 2 of them for my 2560x1440 monitors, and the third is just on the DVI-D output.
