hdmi/dvi no input

Built a new system lastnight, so I'm new to all this fancy hdmi jazz

I got one of the hanns g 28" bad boys and it only has an HDMI port and a VGA port. The VGA works fine, but if I try using the HDMI to DVI cable, it just says no input detected.

Is something wrong or is this normal? It's a 4850 it's connecting to...

I had a bit of trouble with selecting the right res. Have a look in CCC

Catalyst Control Centre (thing that has a red box and ati on the bottom right of your screen)
