HDMI>DVI :(

Ok so i was in town and decided to get a hdmi to dvi adapter so i can use my ps3 on my monitor. So i plugged in the hdmi to the adapter and into my ps3. Turn on nothing screen notices theres a connection in. So i plug in my ps3 in to my old rubbish tv and it says do you want to use a hdmi cable as one is plugged in i clicked yes and nothing happened, i waited for 1 minute and switched it of any help? Will appreciate it so much thanks Pat

Your monitor needs HDCP to be able to use it with the PS3's HDMI connection I think. Does it have that? What model is your monitor if you dont know.

Yes they do! (I have one), make sures its a a04 rev so its hdcp compliant.

I have a Dell 2407FPW AO3 too and the PS3 worked fine at 1080p through a HDMI>DVI cable. Was a nice enough picture (sometimes showed a few too many jaggies but you quickly look past them when playing a game)
Now I play on a 42" plasma at 1080p though

Im using a converter, dont know if this helps over a cable but i swear there aint many jaggies! The thing cost me like 25quid.
