Hi all,

On my media centre pc, im having the hdmi (EDID) handshake issue.
Using HDMI The pc boots and posts, but when windows begins to load the "no display" message appears on the tv.

Using VGA or DVI cables, the pc runs fine. But this is no good for home media, projector stuff

i have tried loads of different cables, different screens, complete tear down and re seating of everything... updating bios, formatting and installing windows 7, windows 8 etc.... Still no luck...

Any solutions would be appreciated... My SPECS are....

This seems to be a common problem with newer ports I've even heard of this with DP. Lord knows what will happen when all monitors and cards are DP and HDMI only.

Have it myself the TV won't display anything higher than 720p via HDMI the only way I can get it to display full 1080p is to plug it into the DVI port then it works perfectly. I have a dongle that plugs in the DVI port and has a HDMI port out that then hooks up to the TV. Monitor then has to be plugged into the HDMI port... which also won't display over 720p but at least I can use an EDID override tool to force the higher resolutions and full gamut (1200p on this monitor) that the TV doesn't support.

You'll find this problem all over the AMD support forums.
