HDMI equiped 360s & Optical Out

Ok something has been bugging me for a few days now (had a sleepless night the other night and my mind went wandering

)

With the new HDMI equipped XBox 360s how do you connect it to an AV amp via an optical toslink if you want to connect to your TV via HDMI (ala PS3) because I'm sure there must be plenty of people out there who don't own an AV amp that does sound over HDMI. Are you forced to use VGA or Component in these cases :confused:

Any clarification would be handy so I can than start thinking and worrying about something else then

Only in the Elite, you get a little dongle which plugs in the AV port and has the optical port and the L/R phono ports. With the other consoles, you have to buy it even though I've never seen it in shops yet.

There are reports that you can peel pack the end of the component cable and plug that in to use for sound, too.

I picked mine up in a BEst Buy in Miami, it was the only place i saw them out there though

Just perusing that auction site and they have them on there ranging from £25 (for an official one) to £16 (for one made by a company using the component cables by the look of things)
