can any computer with the Pci-e x16 slot fit a card with hdmi port or is there more to it than that??

for example, lets say i wanted to replace the GPU in the missus computer which has the following spec:

SFF Ideq N1
Biostar ??? Motherboard
AMD Mobile Sempron 3300+ 2ghz
1.25gb DDR PC-3200 Ram
8500GT 256mb
220w PSU

would the rest work with the hdmi card or nothing at all?? not talking about any fancy hdmi card either for the obvious above reason, just a better card than the GT just with hdmi ;).

thanks for the replies and yeah i do like the sound of that card :).

as for sound, she has 2.1 pc speakers, but reason im thinking of hdmi is to connect to our tv if so choose to and i find that method easier and better than vga..

tv it would be connected to(downstairs anyways) would be my 46" lcd 3d 1080p and i noticed that card mentions something about 3d, so does that mean if i had that card, connected it to my tv, i could play stuff in 3d mode?..

i figured the psu might add restrictions, but i am planning on a new build at some point, so can go to that aswell...

thanks for the replies, yeah i did mean for movies sorry, dont own any 3D games even for the playstion lol..

i havent brought a new card yet as i maxed her Ram out and also brought her couple other things that are for christmas and to be honest i dont know if it will ever get hooked to tv, but i would still want to get her a better graphics card and perhaps a nicer Monitor as she using my old Dell one from my Dime 5000 i had and so generally want her to have nice things..

i have however while trying to find her a laptop on auction come across a Shuttle XPC version which is more than what i paid for her Ideq, but spec is better bar couple things(hdd smaller and no GPU)..

this is what i got from the listing..

AMD Athlon dual core 2.6ghz
3 gig RAM
160 GB Hard Drive
Wireless network card
DVD Rewriter
NVIDA 7025 graphics on board
Windows Vista with COA

i had a quick look on the shuttle website and this takes 4gb max which i like and should have a 250w psu which is alittle more than her current, so should en-able few more options ;).. if i win it then i can use her 8500GT unless those onboards work and are good and save up for one of those cards mentioned above if not better???
