ive been looking around recently and people have only been mentioning certain mobo's that offer a hdmi output, i was wondering if any of you guys could spec me a good graphics card for a htpc that would offer a hdmi output

thanks.

A HDMI output is not that important as a 'DVI>HDMI' is just as good. ATI also does sound over this connection if thats important to you, not sure about NVIDIA.

I've got a 4870, and had a 2600XT both as good as each other as HTPC 'stuff'. I've also got a 8800GTS 512 with a 'DVI>HDMI' connection, no sound but the picture is good(to my eyes the ATI cards are slightly better for HTPC)

Personally I think if your spending all that money on a HDTV and a HTPC, your probably going to want at least 5.1 (DD or DTS) in which case I’d suggest a separate AV Receiver, if that is the path you take, sound of HDMI is not that important (as optical out will do). If you want to spend crazy money True-HD (7.1) is about now, but you need a separate (£140 ish) sound card to ‘enjoy’ that…(plus a AV receiver capable of decoding it).

As stated, If using the HDTV speakers obviously sound of HDMI is a must.
