Not sure where to post this really
I have upstairs in one of the rooms the following setup:
40" Samsung HD TV
Medion X6815 Gaming Laptop
Sagemcom RT190-500 t2 Freeview HD recorder
I connect the Laptop to the TV via HDMI for games etc, and also the Freeview recorder is connected via HDMI to the TV.
For the Freeview signal I have extended the internal roof coax aerial up the stairs and into the room. The signal is always pretty much excellent even on the HD channels. That is when the Laptop is not connected to the TV. As soon as I connect the Laptop through the HDMI to the TV the signal severely drops all together. If I remove any one of the HDMI's the signal on the Freeview picks up again (I tested by recording without the HDMI - just the aerial connected).
The Freeview picks up a good signal when just one HDMI is connected, but as soon as another is connected to the TV it deteriorates. I have been using cheap cables (£7 from Tesco) ones, recently I bought some triple shielded braided HDMI cables with only a little improvement.
I assume there is some interference going on. I want to be able to connect the Laptop to the TV, and also record from the Freeview at the same time without any issue.
Suggestions welcomed cheers
