hdmi no sound on ati

have just put together a htpc and the onboard hd4200 has hdmi and it displays signal fine but wont give me any sound,am i missing something,p.s went into sound device and its there but says its unplugged cheers

well its hit and miss when i reboot sometimes it comes on and sometimes it doesnt,has no one had this problem cheers

If you are running the hdmi from the gpu using spdif on the mobo you will need to go into the bios & change the spdif output to hdmi try that & see how you get on.
