Built a mini system for my dad at work yesterday and had a few issues with the thing showing a display.

Spec is

MSI H97I AC Intel H97

Intel Pentium K Anniversary G3258

and some Black Dragon DDR3 1333MHz memory.

Now upon first booting up of the system it refused to show anything on the screen. Quick clear of the BIOS and I got the thing to load and went into options to load defaults and did a restart. However upon restarting the system appears to turn on but the monitor just shows HDMI connection not received and stays on a blue screen.

You have to clear the bios each time in order to get the thing to load but even then it still boots and gives that error.

I managed to install a spare G1820 and that worked and installed windows but upon my dad coming to use the system this morning, that has also returned the HDMI can't be found error.

Any ideas?

have you checked for BIOS updates? saying that, updating the BIOS could be risky when there are intermittent display problems. :p

FWIW, i'm using hdmi with my g3258 just fine - albeit with a cheapo gigabyte h81 board.
