This monitor has two ports, an HDMI and a Display port. Ive 2 computers at my desk. One for games (using the display port) and the other for work which im trying to use the HDMI on.

I get a picture on HDMI but its 1920x1080 and any higher resolution is not available. Also its at 60hz and again any higher is not a option.

The PC in question has a GTX210 fanless graphics card installed. Ive bought a new 1.4 HDMI cable but to no avail. Its actually really doing my head in this problem :(

I would have thought it world work ok in this day and age without any tinkering but it seems I was wrong. Oh well, it mght be something simple :)

You'd need HDMI 1.4 to get 2560x1440 @ 60 Hz but the monitor and GPU would need to have an HDMI 1.4+ port. Dual-Link DVI can manage 2560x1440 @ 90 Hz (100-120 Hz might be possible with hacks depending on hardware). For 2560x1440 @ 144 Hz you need DisplayPort or HDMI 2.0 (I think).

Mmm maybe the gtx210 doesn't have hdmi 1.4. I've looked online but can't find out the version it has so far. I'll have a look again tomorrow

EDIT. I think it's 1.3a

Ok I got it working now. I took out the 210 and put in a gtx770 and it worked after installing the drivers.

Thanks a lot Dragon, you really helped me out here. The PC in question is 100% silent and i was worried the 770 would maybe be audible but its not!! Hooray! Thanks!
