i just got a hdmi cable to connect my 1080p tv via the ati adapter to my pc but i can't get any picture.

i checked CCC and the tv is there under DTV (HDMI) 3 and lists the max res at 1920x1080 and the max refresh at 120hz. i'm pretty sure the refresh is way off?

i read that you need to make the tv an extended display but i can't see any option to make it one and at the moment it keeps defaulting to clone mode.

any help?

try dropping your cards refresh to 60htz i had to do that to get mine to work

i have an old ati 850xt agp though.

i cant see any way at all to change any of the hdmi settings.

i can see all my options to change my monitors but there are no settings like that under the hdmi section,

i tried rebooting without my monitor on and that never worked, i even tried using a preset hdtv res that are in CCC and it screwed my monitor up bigtime which i dont understand as its under the hdmi section so i didn't think it would affect my monitor

ok i finally got a picture on it but thats at 1920x1080 and refresh rete can be either 25i or 30i and with these settings the tv tells me its 1080i and not 1080p.

could it be down to the cable im using? not sure if i need one of these newer 1.3 hdmi cables or not?
