hi there I use a 50inch 3D plasma (1920 x 1080) tv as a gaming monitor using a HDMI cable 1.4
I currently use a GTX295 until I updgrade in the next week or so. Ive noticed on the nvidia control panel that it looks like the performace mode and physx is only on the dvi connectors. is there a difference or should I use a DVI to hdmi converter? the games run good on hdmi though? thanks

i don't think there is any real difference between hdmi and dvi, other than the fact that hdmi also carries audio.

to quote a specialist website

'First, to clear away one element that can be confusing: DVI and HDMI are exactly the same as one another, image-quality-wise. The principal differences are that HDMI carries audio as well as video, and uses a different type of connector, but both use the same encoding scheme, and that's why a DVI source can be connected to an HDMI monitor, or vice versa, with a DVI/HDMI cable, with no intervening converter box'

I use optical out for sound thanks guys, just wanted to make sure I was using the coronet port in graphics card, and not a limited performance port!
