HDMI over Ethernet

I have 5m or so of good quality cat6 terminated at the PC and behind the TV across two rooms. I want to be able to have a game run on a separate monitor (the TV) when the Mrs is using it.

I’ve tried twice in the past to run HDMI over the run, one set stopped working after a while, the other just doesn’t work. The run seems to be working fine; I’ve tried using a tester on the terminal, as well as using my PC on


Can anyone recommend a reliable set that actually works? And perhaps she’d some light as to why the others didn’t.

The sets were cheap jobs off Amazon so perhaps that’s it.

Have you had a look at a Steam Link or Nvidia Shield TV? Far easier than running cables!

Hi mate, thanks for posting. I have a Steam Link but it mirrors displays.

Cables are already run, I’d just have to plug in the converter at each end.
