I'm trying to hook my PC up to my TV using my really long HDMI cable. The problem is the HDMI connector has a lot casing around it so it needs quite a lot of space to go directly into the port on the card. My monitor doesn't have a port unfortunately so I was wondering is there a work around I can do?

Hi there,

Is that a HDMI or mini-HDMI connection in the picture?

If it's mini-HMDI you will need an adapter/cable that converts from mini-HDMI (male) to HDMI (female) so you can hook the card up to the long full-size HDMI cable.

If it is a full-size HDMI-out on the graphics card, then you may want to look for a short, slim-socket HDMI extension cable, or hack away at the plastic casing around one of the plugs on your existing cable until it fits.

Also, if you don't need the sound signal through the HDMI cable then you could use the free DVI output of your graphics card and a cheap adapter like this.
