HDMI port wrong way around?

Hi. About 2 and half year back I brought a new PC (Not from here) and I got a MSI 670GTX graphic card. When using HDMI to HDMI on my tv it has never worked and tried telling where I got it from but they didn't want to no which now I will never buy from that well known company again. Any way. Every now and then I get the urge just to try it and see if it works but no look . Today though I noticed that I have to twist the HDMI cable up side down to insert it.

in that pic it shows you that the long part is at the top and the short is at the bottom but on mine its the opposite way round. The DVI to HDMI works just the HDMI port. Could this be the reason why no pic or sound has never worked on my graphic card from the HDMI?.

By the way I didn't get it from that site.

The orientation of the hdmi socket/plug/cable makes no difference.

Chances are, the socket on the card is buggered. I had the same issue once.

By the same logic you'd have to disregard every USB port you discovered that had whatever arbitrary orientation you'd decided was "up" the wrong way round?

Surely you're not serious?

The HDMI port is up side down? how did that happen? they can only be soldered to the PCB one way.

They can only be plugged in one way, wouldn't matter how it's soldered on the board as long as the connections are correct
I've had a few cards where they've been 'upside' down, confuses the **** out of me....grubbing away hours, only to find....duhh!!! cable wrong way round!
