HDMI problems

Hey folks. So I patiently waited all weekend for a mini HDMI male to HDMI female adapter only to find it doesnt fit in my GTX 570 because it hits my case on the way in

So im wondering if its possible for a temporary fix to file down the plastic coating around the HDMI adapter? How is it put together inside does anyone happen to know?

I've filed down my HDMI-DVI adapter, with no issues. I found it to be almost solid plastic ( guess its mostly plastic to make it feel like more than two connectors and a pcb worth 20p).
Cant see HDMI-HDMI being any different

Sadly I filed it down as much as possible, im now hitting metal but it wont fit

Im going to need to find a slimmer adapter. Wont be difficult but its just annoying

Do you think I should send an email to Corsair about the case not leaving enough room for most adapters and cables? Might get a freebie

Or at the very least the may suggest an adapter that fits
