Hello,

I just upgraded to a gtx560 ti hawk (msi) and I want a new 1920x1080 monitor. I have about £100 budget for this upgrade and I have seen a few good monitors that only support hdmi and vga. I want to know if i plug the monitor in via hdmi will i still be able to play sound from the back of my motherboard into my headset also is there any differences between hdmi and dvi-d ?

thanks :)

HDMI = DVI + Sound
Dual-link DVI has more bandwidth than HDMI and can do resolutions above 1920x1200 or 120Hz Full HD.

Windows (and other operating systems) allow you to select the default sound output device/port. So yes you should still be able to use the motherboard connections.
