Hi guys,

I'm trying to connect my Laptop up to my TV in the front room and I just cannot get the audio to work 100%. It's connected via HDMI and the display is fine, you boot the Laptop up and the startup for Windows plays through the TV speakers then it stops!

The O/S looks like it's outputting the sound as in the playback devices has the 'sound bar' going up and down but nothing is heard from the speakers. I've tried this on both my AMP and the TV so it certainly seems to be Windows causing the issues.

I've updated the sound drivers, made sure HDMI audio is the default device, disabled the speakers, checked BIOS for any weird config but to no avail.

Doing my head in!! Any ideas? It's baffeling the sound starts on startup and then doesn't work.

The Laptop is a HP G62.

Cheers

I used to get this but not on a laptop.

Right click the volume icon>playback devices
Then disable the ones I didn't want to use.

Looks from your post that you have tried that though?

If it looks like it's setup correctly, update drivers for video card.

Still nothing?
Try another HDMI cable.
