Picked up one off that Auction site **** for £19.99 supports 3 ports, manually switches and no PSU. No picture degradation and colour loss, I have My HD-E1 and my PS3 attached to my Tosh 37 inch in 1920x1080 format. The only downgrade I am finding is that my Toshiba HD-E1 HD DVD only plays up to 1080i. Thank goodness I have my Xbox360 connected to its own HD DVD player and outputs full 1080P via component. Now If I had the Elite I'd have that connected to the switch box and discard the component input.
They have come down a hell of a lot since they first came out. but these switch boxes were around £170. Like everything else. as soon as the market is flooded the lower the prices get.
