Can anyone recommend a HDMI switch as I'm out of inputs and need an extra

Currently have a PS5/AppleTV/SONOS Beam (EARC) And the sky box.

However we also have a Nintendo Switch that we have set up, soon to be replaced with the Switch 2 on the horizon, so I need an extra input. (Currently manually swapping the sky box in and out when we want to use the Switch)

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

How many ports and do you want it to be 2.1 compatible?
Thanks, literally just need 1 extra port so 2?

It will be used for the Switch now and Switch 2 soon which supports HDR/4k etc but doubt it needs 2.1?

And whatever sky needs of course.

Side note, will using something like the affect my surround sound? I use Sonos via HDMI eArc. I imagine it will still work just fine for those items running through the switch box thing?

That would do it. Sound will be fine yes.

TV to Sonos via eARC
Inputs > HDMI switch > To one of the TV’s HDMI inputs

Otherwise just drop me a pm and I'll send you one. I've got a few spares that I don't use anymore.

Look for a HDMI 2.1 switch, for full 4K 120hz, VRR, HDR, Dolby Vision, HLG etc support

Just in case you want to put consoles through them.
Anyone have any suggestions for one of these?
Currently have PC, PS5 Pro, Nvidia Shield, Nintendo Switch (soon to be Switch 2) but would like to be able to hook up another PC.

All sources besides the Shield support VRR.

Cheers :)

I'm using a denon avs3. Have an XBS, PS5 and spare lead (usually laptop) running through it.

I wasn't expecting to see a price like that for a HDMI switch!

Others that I've seen on the rainforest since posting above are a good bit cheaper, Ugreen etc.

I think at the price of that Denon (£179) I'd be more tempted to get round to replacing my SMSL Q5 Pro ChiFi stereo amp with a receiver again. Was always supposed to be a stop gap after my Cambridge Audio receiver died, but it's done well enough to stay! :)

Thank you for your reply though, I'll keep it in mind in case I'm missing something it can do that the Ugreen 4K/8K VRR ones can't :)

Didn't see your reply and that you mentioned the same one I was thinking about too :) Thanks!

switches have gone down a lot, they used to be £150 or something, not many brands existed.

There are also multiplexors which are still quite expensive, and useful if you need multiple HDMI OUTPUT, ie two dual displays

Wow, it was only £40 when I bought mine back in 2023.
