Just got one of these....I'm sure ive read they carry both vid + audio

Is this true?..with it being just pugged into a graphics card surely it dont provide audio too

Or does it

Thanks

HDMI does carry digital audio. You'd have to either run analog or digital sound to a separate system or connect audio inputs to the cable, depending on how the manufacturer decided to do it.

Last time I checked only ATI GPU cards supplied audio via the HDMI/HDCP. For Nvidia cards you'll have to reroute the audio connections to your sound card.

Yes, it only carries 8 channel too although this is fine in most cases. i just continue to use the SPDIF

"only" ? How many channels do you want? :p Im sure I read that for Dolby TrueHD and whatever the DTS standard is it has to be carried over HDMI as spdif cannot do it.
