I've had 2 of these L-2442WD monitors from Overclockers and can't get any picture to show on the DVI port.
I've connected 3 different sources (DVD, V+ box and PS3) all using an HDMI to DVI cable. I've tried 2 different cables too.
If I connect the cable into my NEC monitor, I get a picture straight away.
If I connect the cable into the Overclockers monitor I get no picture.
I phoned technical support and they said "Just because its got a DVI port, your cable isn't sending the picture in a compatible way for the monitor"
Since there is no "conversion" going on inside the cable, I thought that HDMI and DVI were effectively the same thing (as far as carrying an image goes), just with different connectors.
It seems that you cant always go HDMI - DVI then, is this the case, or have I just had 2 faulty monitors.
They wont test one of these monitors with an HDMI lead for me either.
