Hi thanks for looking.

What would be the best converter HDMI or DP to DVI converter? Or do you think it wont really make any difference?

Thanks.

HDMI and DVI are electrically the same so should be cheaper.

DP to DVI requires an active adapter unless it supports dual-mode, you'll need to check if the PC supports this.

What is the main device and which monitor is it?

Thanks for the reply.

All it is basically is my sons rtx 3070 does not have DVI output. My mac gave up so my son wants to use the monitor from the mac (DVI cable) on hes pc that has HDMI and DP outputs. if that makes sense.

Thanks.

You can get cheap DP to DVI cables off the rainforest and they work fine I'm using one.
