Hi

My monitor (HP w2207h) only has 1 HDMI input and i'd like to run my PS3 as well as the PC through the monitor. OCUK don't seem to sell them but i've found a few elsewhere for a range of prices starting at £20. Has anybody had any experience with one of these or can reccomend a particular one.

The other option is to run the PC with DVI -> VGA instead of the current DVI -> HDMI. Am I likely to notice much difference in image quality on VGA?

Oppo have a 3 in, 1 out remote controlled HDMI switcher. £70. Avforums have a lead with a 2 input connector, it's on one of the ad banners. No idea of price.

Digital input has slightly better picture, text is a bit more clearer, no edges around text. I can notice it on my 40" 1080p, but not so much on 20" and 24"

I've just ordered a cheap as chips two port hdmi switch (unpowered with a manual swtich on it), but im gonna use it kinda backwards - the output will actually be my 360 input, the two inputs will actually be outputs to my 24" monitor and to my 32" hd tv - will let you know how it works when I get it (probably early next week if im lucky)

the switch ive ordered has two 'input' female ports and one 'output' female port. MY hdmi cables are all male to male, therefore I will have my xbox linked up to the single 'output' port, and my 24" and 32" linked up to the two 'input' ports. Its an unpowered hub and very cheap, if I have issues with it then it will just be put in the cupboard for future modification :p The switch wont actually know which direction the signal is going in, therefore I can choose between xbox->24" or xbox->32". I cant think why it wont work, but when I get it and plug it all in maybe I will experience a forehead-slapping-doh moment lol

got my cheap as chips hdmi two port switch and it works like a charm - xbox 360 is on the single output port (its backwards i know), and my 32" and my 24" are on the two input ports. Its made by Vivo, its glossy black and astechically simple but does not look or feel cheap at all (feels quite solid actually), and it is unpowered (which is a bonus so no extra leads). Dimensions:

width: 140 mm
height: 35mm
depth: 115mm

There are two switches on the front, push one in to select, say, input one, and the other button pushes out (im sure you know the mechanism i mean, old school but does the job). The three ports (two input, one output) are female hdmi as you would expect.

As I said, its dirt cheap but does the job for me and im well happy :)

Good stuff and thanks for letting us know... thinking i'll be looking for something similar. Any chance you can let me know with a PM where you got it from or is that against the rules???

sent you an email egon to the address listed in your ocuk user profile. OCUK dont sell these kind of products so hopefully they wont mind me pointing you in the right direction.
