HDMI? what is it and how do i use it from PC to TV?

Hi, i have a LG LCD that does HDMI and i am guessing i need to use this for high definition. I have a 7900GTX graphics card in my pc and i want to connect it to my TV.At the moment i do this through DVI so i was wondering is it possible to get high definition movies etc from my computer onto my TV? i am guessing HDMI comes into somewhere?

HDMI is a video connection like DVI, infact it's pretty similar to DVI but has extra stuff like being able to carry audio. You should be able to get a DVI > HDMI cable to connect them together.

Would i not loose out on the high definition though? or can my computer still push out high definition on a DVI?

Nope you will be fine. They are basically the same except HDMI carries Audio and DVI doesnt.

Yep, as above, buy a DVI -> HDMI cable and you'll be fine.

Does this require some special HDMI cable? The HDMI cable I've got running from my PC to my TV doesn't carry audio. Having to use one of those small 3mm audio-jacks from my PC to TV.

Actually yeah , if i am going from DVI from pc to HDMI to TV will i still get qudio through that cable?

Only if the cable has an appropriate place to put the 3.5mm into it. The graphics card cannot do it.
