Hi all,
I had an Alienware AW3225QF which I replaced with a second I got for much cheaper. The problem is that with the new monitor, HDR is more overexposed than before. I'm using the same settings as before (TrueBlack 400 and DV Dark as per a Reddit thread I saw). HDR was absolutely perfect with the previous monitor, but now even with the same settings I can't get it to replicate what it looked like before.
The most easily quantifiable difference is in Forza Horizon 5. In the HDR settings below, the icon used to disappear at 600, whereas now it's at 2,100. The result is that bright scenes are blown out, especially with white backgrounds such as selecting cars. Reducing it to 600 anyway makes the whites grey.
Not sure if there's a setting I might've missed or if there's an inconsistency between the panels. Unfortunately I can't check side-by-side as I don't have the previous monitor anymore. I did swap to the Nvidia App from Geforce Experience but haven't changed anything with drivers so not sure if that had an effect. Any idea if there is a setting that may need to change or would it be worth returning? Thanks.
