Hello,

I have a Cannon MVX2i which has given me good service over the last 3 years but now want to replace it and have seen the SONY HDR-HC7E (first in Singapore) but have not seen a full review.

Seems to be what I want to update the Cannon (movies + 6MP stills onto a card) - any knowledge out there please?

Thanks, Mel

I have no doubt it is an excellent camera! Doesnt seem to be many reviews around at all which is a shame - seems like quite a good right up here - http://www.letsgodigital.org/en/12061/sony_hdrhc7e_camcorder/ (cant see that they sell them - so guessing the competitors link rule on here won't get me in trouble)

I havent used this camera - but would love to own one! I really like Sonys camcorders. Cant fault them!

Can't offer much help really other than to say that I use the HDR-HC1 regularly and can't stand it. Woeful grain in low light, rubbish stills and worst of all really it's unreliable (I have used 4 of these regularly, and each of them has had problems over the last 6-8 months). On that basis I wouldn't buy sony HD.
DV is a different matter completely though, short of an XL-2 they're a sure thing.
