HDR keeps turning off

I have this annoying issue where if games go full screen sometimes HDR turns off (not always) or some software just turns it off anyway....
Alt tabbing in and out almost always causes it.

Games which supports full screen windowed are fine.

The problem is my settings are all configured for HDR on. When it turns off brightness is too low and colours are hugely over saturated.

Anyone any ideas how to force HDR to stick on

This is at uHD 60hz

GPU this happened on both a 1080ti and my 3090FE

Yeah it happens on all games from time to time.

Also of it was just that then surely it should turn back in again after exiting the game.

My PS4 for instance does it perfectly.... Even if a game doesn't technically support HDR it does not screw up my display settings.

I can’t say I’ve had this problem myself . HDR on Windows is washed out looking to me until you put some digital vibrance on .

And that is exactly the issue..... HDR looks awful on desktop until you set it up.... However after spending ages setting up the screen to look good with HDR on it means as soon as you turn it off it looks terrible.

Yes hdr in Windows is utter crap I can’t believe it looks good on console like wtf is going on there Microsoft needs to fix this pronto.

In desktop it does but Ncp can be configured to fix it at desktop. What monitor and Mobo are you using as thats more than likely the problem. Ive just had an Aorus Vision G Z490 board die on me and that was one of the proble3ms before it borked and had to be RMA'd.
