HDR to non HDR flicker when game is open in background?

Hi all,

I thought I would ask this here as hopefully someone has encountered it - when I have a game open even if it's in the background I will have multiple periods where the monitor will completely at random flick between HDR and non HDR sometimes 4/5 times in a row and then it will sit for a while and then potentially do it again.

Is this a weird quirk with HDR in Windows or perhaps my monitor specifically? (Odyssey g7)

Windows 11 - it will also randomly sometimes wash out the colours completely but if I turn the monitor off and on again then the colours are restored - very strange!

Very weird never had any of that happen to me

Is auto HDR enabled?

Is that the first Odyssey G7 or the newer Mini LED model? Is HDR on in Windows, or just the game settings (I can think of few games that will enable it without it being turned on in the OS fist), or does it not matter?

Full screen or borderless window?

It's the older g7 and auto hdr is disabled. Borderless window - it appears to be some kind of HDR battle between 1's and 0's in the monitor and windows

I have the same monitor but Windows 10. Which games does this happen in? Probably not comparable but I could see if I can replicate if there are any I own.

HDR is always washed out for me and hasn't worked properly from the start...except in Halo Infinite, but only when the game wasn't the active app!
