Its my birthday next month and I was pretty fixed on getting a new camera, but my missus has suggested maybe a 32" HDTV - the thing is I am not sure I need one!
I have a media center PC, its my stereo, TV, DVD and PVR all in one and I am currently on a Dell 20" LCD which although smallish, does us fine for now. I have 3 TV cards and Cable TV connected via composite and then DVI to the monitor.

I dont think I need a HDTV as my monitor is completely capable of Hi Def resolutions, if anything, I think I would be better off getting maybe a 30" LCD?

Just wanting advice based on my setup, is there any point to me getting a HDTV, wouldn't an larger LCD give me just as good a picture? I have everything I need in my PC - I presume, I dont know, these are just presumptions that I have always had....

Please correct me if I am wrong..

Cheers for the advice guys and to answer a couple of questions..

I do not use my media centre as a computer, only for home entertainment
My viewing distance is about 8ft
The monitor will only be used for Blue Ray movies, TV, DVD's etc

So I am correct in thinking that I don't need a TV, just a larger monitor?
Now I have to choose between a Canon G9 or a 32" LCD:D

Off to look at the OCUK range for pricing - I love birthdays!
